Syncing Lexicon to Serato

Lexicon syncs your library directly into the Serato database. Serato DJ Pro and Serato DJ Lite are both supported, in Serato 3 and Serato 4.

Syncing is easy, follow these steps:

1. Close Serato. Lexicon checks this and waits until Serato is fully closed before it syncs.
2. Go to the Sync page and choose Serato DJ Pro 4 or Serato DJ Pro 3, depending on the Serato version you use.
3. Pick your options and click the sync button at the bottom (Sync to Serato DJ 4 or Sync to Serato DJ).
4. Open Serato.

See Sync for the Full, Playlist and Modified sync types. A Full Sync removes crates from Serato that are not in Lexicon.

Serato 3 or Serato 4

Serato 4 stores your library and crates in a new database, in a different place than Serato 3:

• Serato 4 keeps its library in the Serato Library folder (on macOS in Library/Application Support/Serato/Library, on Windows in AppData\Local\Serato\Library). Serato 4 no longer uses the crate files in the _Serato_/Subcrates folder.
• Serato 3 keeps its crates as files in the _Serato_ folder in your Music folder, and in a _Serato_ folder on each external drive with music.

Always sync to the version you actually use, because each version reads its own database.

Music on external drives (Serato 4)

For tracks on an external drive, Serato 4 needs its own library to be set up first. If Serato 4 has not created it yet, Lexicon skips the tracks on external drives. Open Serato 4, add at least one track to it so it creates its library, close Serato and sync again.

Backups

Before syncing, Lexicon makes a daily backup of your Serato database, and of the database on each external drive. Serato 4 backups are kept for one week. See How to restore a Lexicon or DJ app backup for where they are and how to restore them.

Streaming tracks

Serato only shows streaming tracks from the streaming service that is enabled in the Serato settings. See this guide.
