Interface Overview

This page explains the main parts of the Lexicon window, so you know where to find everything.

The sidebar on the left is how you move around in Lexicon. Hover over an icon to see its name. From top to bottom:

  • Tracks: your library, with Tracks (all tracks), Incoming (see Watch Folder) and Archive
  • Sync: sync to your DJ apps, and import from them with Import tracks & playlists. See Sync
  • Quick Fixes: Smart Fixes, Genre Cleanup and Artist Cleanup to clean up your tags
  • Custom Tags: manage your tags, see Custom Tags
  • Track Matcher: find tracks from a list, see Track Matcher
  • History: the play history from your DJ apps, see History
  • Charts: browse charts
  • Store Links: find where to buy tracks, see Store Links
  • Mobile App: sync with the Lexicon mobile app, see Mobile App
  • Statistics: facts and numbers about your library
  • Beatport: the Beatport catalog, only when you enabled the Beatport integration. See Beatport

At the bottom of the sidebar:

  • Help: the Manual, the Hotkeys overview and Cuey, our support chatbot
  • Notifications: background tasks and their progress, see below
  • Show Playlists: show or hide your playlists

Most of these pages can also be opened from the Go menu in the top menu bar.

Notifications and progress

Longer tasks run in the background, so you can keep working in Lexicon. Examples are analyzing tracks, uploading to Cloud Storage, writing tags and generating cue points.

While a task is running, the Notifications icon at the bottom of the sidebar spins. Click it to see each running task with its progress bar and percentage. Some tasks, like Cloud Storage uploads, can be paused or stopped there.

Imports and syncs are different: they show their progress on the Import or Sync page itself.

Top menu bar

The top menu bar has everything else, for example:

  • Lexicon DJ: Settings, check for updates and log out
  • File: Import from…, Sync to… and Add Folder…
  • Edit: Find (global search) and Undo History
  • Go: all pages from the sidebar
  • Utility: tools like Find Duplicates, Find Lost Tracks, Playlist Occurrence and the Smartlist Generator
  • Backup: database backups and Cloud Storage
