Common questions
Is my track uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded and analysed by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored.
Why did it return double or half the tempo I expected?
Tempo detection cannot always tell a 87 BPM hip-hop track from a 174 BPM drum & bass track - the beats line up. Choosing the BPM range that matches your genre resolves nearly all of these.
Why is the result not a round number?
Most produced tracks sit on an exact tempo and will come back as a whole number. Live recordings, vinyl rips and older records genuinely drift, so a fractional result is often the honest answer.
Can it do my whole folder at once?
Not on this page - a browser tab is the wrong place to analyse thousands of files. That is what Lexicon is for, and it adds beatgrids, key and energy at the same time.
