Beatgrid

After loading a track into the music player, you can edit the beatgrid by clicking the Edit Grid button on the right side of the music player.

If you find that your BPM is doubled or half of what it should be, you can use the buttons to half/double the BPM.

Grid controls

Hover over a button in the Edit Grid panel to see what it does. You can:

• Move the beatgrid to the left or right
• Increase or decrease the BPM, or halve or double it
• Tap to set the BPM (TAP)
• Toggle the metronome to check the grid while playing

Tracks with tempo changes

A beatgrid can have several beatgrid markers, for tracks where the tempo changes. Each marker has its own BPM from that point on.

• To add a marker, move the play head to where the tempo changes and click Add new beatgrid marker at this position.
• The BPM buttons, halve/double and move buttons change the current beatgrid marker: the marker at or before the play head.
• Use Jump to the next beatgrid marker to go through the markers, and Delete current beatgrid marker to remove one you don't need.

To start over with a fresh beatgrid, analyze the track again with BPM & Beatgrid checked and Do not overwrite anything unchecked. See Analyzer.

Analysis

If a track does not yet have a beatgrid, Lexicon will analyze the track and create one automatically.

You can also right click tracks and choose Analyze to analyze many tracks at the same time. See Analyzer

Quantize

When Quantize is enabled, moving the beatgrid will move cue points with them if they were already synced to the beatgrid. Cue points that are not exactly on the beatgrid will not be changed.
