Convert your Serato DJ library to Traktor Pro with Lexicon. Crates become playlists, hot cues transfer, beatgrids stay locked. Free, Windows and macOS.
Supports Serato DJ Pro and Lite (versions 3 and 4) → Traktor Pro 3 or 4. Traktor DJ is not supported by Lexicon.
Requirements
You need to have these installed:
- Serato DJ Pro or Lite (3 or 4)
- Traktor Pro 3 or 4, launched at least once
- Lexicon — free for library conversion
Lexicon runs on Windows and macOS.
Steps to convert Serato to Traktor
The process has two parts: import your Serato library into Lexicon, then sync it to Traktor.
Part 1 — Import from Serato
- Close both Serato and Traktor completely. Background processes must terminate for the databases to be readable.
- Open Lexicon and go to the Sync page.

- Click
Import tracks & playlistsat the bottom.

- Choose Serato from the dropdown. Lexicon auto-detects the database.

- Leave
Fullselected to import your entire library.

- Click
Start importing. Your Serato library now lives in Lexicon.

Part 2 — Sync to Traktor
- Go back to the Sync page (don't click Import again).
- Choose Traktor from the dropdown. Lexicon auto-detects the Traktor database.

- Leave
Fullselected. Leave the other options on their defaults.

- Click
Sync to Traktor. Wait for it to finish.

When it completes, open Traktor and your full library is there — playlists, cues, beatgrids and tags intact.
What transfers from Serato to Traktor
| Item | Transfers | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Crates & folder structure | Yes | Serato crates become Traktor playlists. Subcrates map to Traktor playlist folders. |
| Smart Crates | As smart playlists | Serato Smart Crates come across as Lexicon smartlists, which sync to Traktor where supported. |
| Tracks in parent folders | As _FolderTracks playlist | Serato allows tracks directly inside a folder. Traktor doesn't, so Lexicon collects them into a _FolderTracks playlist per folder. |
| Hot cues | Yes (up to 8) | Both apps support 8 hot cues. |
| Cue colors | Lost on display | Traktor doesn't render colored cue points. Lexicon stores the colors so they'll come back on another round-trip. |
| Beatgrids | Yes | Beatgrid markers and BPM transfer. Traktor's strict grid enforcement may need occasional nudges. |
| Loops | Yes (one active) | Traktor supports one active loop per track. |
| Remix Sets | No | Remix Sets are Traktor-only and Lexicon does not support them; nothing in Serato maps to them. |
| Track metadata | Yes | Title, artist, album, genre, BPM, key, comments, ratings, custom tags. |
| Serato FLIP | No | FLIP entries are not read or written by Lexicon. |
| Streaming tracks | Beatport only | Traktor supports Beatport streaming but not Tidal or others. Serato 4 supports multiple streaming services; Serato 3 does not support streaming in crates at all. For Beatport tracks to appear in Traktor after sync, use Serato 4 and make sure Beatport is enabled in both apps. |
| Album art | Yes | Embedded art transfers. |
Notes specific to Serato → Traktor
FLIP is not carried across
Serato FLIP is a Serato-only feature. Lexicon doesn't read or write it, so your FLIP edits remain in Serato only.
Cue colors don't show in Traktor
Traktor has no colored cue points. Lexicon keeps the color data (it'll come back if you sync to Rekordbox, Serato, or Engine DJ later), but in Traktor every cue looks the same.
Tracks placed directly in Serato folders
Serato allows tracks to sit directly inside a folder (not in a crate). Traktor doesn't. Lexicon collects these into a _FolderTracks playlist per folder.
Serato AAC and OGG quirks
Lexicon can read Serato's crate/database data even from AAC and OGG file references. Note: AAC files aren't fully supported for cue editing in Serato itself; OGG supports only one beatgrid marker. If your library is mostly AAC/OGG and you rely on advanced cue edits, double-check after sync.
Close Serato before importing
Serato should exit cleanly, but make sure it's fully closed before starting the import to avoid database lock issues.
Frequently asked questions
Will cue colors show in Traktor?
No. Traktor has no colored cue points. Lexicon keeps the color data so it returns on a future round-trip to an app that supports it.
What happens to Serato FLIP?
Nothing — Lexicon doesn't read or write FLIP. Your FLIP edits remain in Serato only.
Does this work with Traktor Pro 4?
Yes. Lexicon supports Traktor Pro 3 and 4. Traktor DJ (the free limited version) is not supported.
Will Smart Crates become smart playlists in Traktor?
Yes where the rules map cleanly. They pass through Lexicon as smartlists.
Why do I see a _FolderTracks playlist in Traktor?
Because Serato allows tracks directly inside a folder (not in a crate). Traktor doesn't allow that, so Lexicon gathers those tracks into a _FolderTracks playlist per folder.
Does this work on macOS?
Yes. The process is identical on Windows and macOS.
