Applies to Serato DJ Pro or Lite (versions 3 and 4) → any recent djay Pro.
Requirements
You need to have these installed:
- Serato DJ Pro or Lite (3 or 4)
- djay Pro, launched at least once
- Lexicon — free for library conversion
Lexicon runs on Windows and macOS.
Steps to convert Serato to djay Pro
The process has two parts: import your Serato library into Lexicon, then sync it to djay Pro.
Part 1 — Import from Serato
- Close both Serato and djay Pro completely. Background processes must terminate for the databases to be readable.
- Open Lexicon and go to the Sync page.

- Click
Import tracks & playlistsat the bottom.

- Choose Serato from the dropdown. Lexicon auto-detects the database.

- Leave
Fullselected to import your entire library.

- Click
Start importing. Your Serato library now lives in Lexicon.

Part 2 — Sync to djay Pro
- Go back to the Sync page (don't click Import again).
- Choose djay Pro from the dropdown. Lexicon auto-detects the djay Pro database.
- Leave
Fullselected. Leave the other options on their defaults.

- Click
Sync to djay Pro. Wait for it to finish.
When it completes, open djay Pro and your full library is there — playlists, cues, beatgrids and tags intact.

Notes specific to Serato → djay Pro
Close both apps completely
Make sure Serato and djay Pro are fully closed before importing or syncing. Background processes can lock the database and cause the sync to hang.
Streaming tracks
Serato and djay Pro may handle Tidal, SoundCloud, or other streaming libraries differently. Local files always transfer. Streaming tracks need the same service enabled in the target app.
Serato FLIP is not read by Lexicon and will not transfer.
Frequently asked questions
Do cue points keep their colors?
Yes, when both apps support colored cue points. Lexicon stores color data even if the target app does not display it, so colors return on future round-trips.
Will streaming tracks transfer?
Local files always transfer. Streaming tracks only come through if the files are available locally or the target app supports the same streaming service.
Does this work on macOS?
Yes. The process is identical on Windows and macOS.
Can I sync back to Serato later?
Yes. Run djay Pro to Serato to sync changes back.
